Bahraini Crown Prince: Strengthening Gulf Integration as a Pillar to Support Development and Food Security
He called for the development of supply chains, enhancing their efficiency, and expanding international partnerships to address changes and challenges.
Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed on Thursday the importance of continuing to strengthen integration and cooperation among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, in a manner that supports various development pathways, in line with the visions and aspirations of the Council’s leaders.
The Bahrain News Agency reported that this statement was made during a meeting between the Bahraini Crown Prince and Jassim Al-Bedaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC, along with the heads of delegations participating in the 38th meeting of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security, including Kuwaiti Minister of State for Development and Sustainability Dr. Reem Al-Faleh.
The agency added that the delegations conveyed greetings from the GCC leaders to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and to Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad, while the Bahraini Crown Prince conveyed greetings from the King of Bahrain and his own regards to the GCC leaders.
The Bahraini Crown Prince expressed his hope that the meetings would contribute to enhancing cooperation and coordination among GCC member states in the fields of agriculture and food security, and yield further joint initiatives and efforts that strengthen Gulf integration and achieve shared goals and aspirations.
He affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, supports all endeavors and efforts aimed at advancing the trajectory of joint Gulf action across various fields.
He highlighted the importance of continuing to strengthen food security by developing supply and distribution systems and enhancing their efficiency, thereby ensuring the sustainable flow of goods and products. He emphasized the significance of Gulf integration and expanding international partnerships in bolstering the readiness of the food security system to face various changes and challenges.
He also pointed to the role played by the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security, and its contributions to enhancing cooperation and joint coordination among member states in agricultural and food-related fields.
For their part, the GCC Secretary-General and the heads of delegations participating in the 38th meeting of the GCC Committee for Agricultural Cooperation and Food Security expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his keen interest and attention to continuing the development and enhancement of joint Gulf action pathways, and for steering them toward broader horizons, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
