The Applied Studies Institute Completes Preparations for the New Academic and Training Year

Dr. Hassan Al-Fajam, Director General of the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET), reviewed the Authority’s readiness for the launch of the new academic and training year during a meeting with relevant leaders and officials. The meeting reviewed completed works and preparations across the Authority’s various colleges, institutes, and facilities, ensuring their readiness to welcome students in a safe and integrated educational and training environment.

Dr. Al-Fajam emphasized that the Authority has ensured its preparations were completed according to a comprehensive plan covering academic, technical, and service aspects. He stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among relevant sectors and departments to ensure a smooth and organized start to the academic and training year, and to provide all requirements that support students and ensure the continuity of the educational and training process.

During the meeting, the Director General heard a presentation on the readiness of the Authority’s facilities. Ms. Nada Al-Asimi, Director of the Engineering and Maintenance Affairs Department, confirmed the completion of maintenance and preparation works in colleges, institutes, and departments. These works included civil, electrical, and technical tasks, as well as the preparation of laboratories, sports facilities, and theaters. Additionally, major maintenance was carried out on dormitories for scholarship students, elevators were serviced, and preparations related to the security camera infrastructure were completed in coordination with the Security and Safety Department.

For his part, Dr. Fenis Al-Ajmi, Director of the Security and Safety Department, clarified that security and safety systems and fire extinguishing systems at various Authority sites are fully ready. He also confirmed that security and safety teams are prepared to handle various situations and provide necessary support, emphasizing ongoing coordination with relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Interior, to regulate vehicle and traffic movement within Authority sites.

Ms. Mai Al-Majid, Director of the General Services Department, presented the department’s preparations to provide support services for students, primarily transportation services. She noted that 246 buses have been provided for student transport, including large and small buses, as well as buses designated for students with special needs. Additionally, round-the-clock transport services have been provided for scholarship students, and transport services between Authority sites have been arranged according to student needs.

Preparations also included the completion of cleaning and furnishing works in colleges, institutes, classrooms, and laboratories, as well as the provision of cleaning supplies and necessary staff. Furthermore, facilities have been equipped with food services and vending machines for snacks, healthy food, water, and beverages at several locations.

The Authority emphasized that these preparations are part of its commitment to providing a safe and prepared educational and training environment, and to enhancing the quality of services provided to students. This ensures an organized and effective start to the new academic and training year, supporting the Authority’s mission in fulfilling its educational and training roles and serving its students and members.
