Al-Jalahma: Enhancing Gulf cooperation to develop youth capacities and support their participation in development

- Adoption of the action plan for ministers of youth and sports until 2030 and strengthening partnership with the private sector

Kuwait’s Minister of State for Youth and Sports Affairs, Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma, emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation and coordination among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the youth and sports fields, contributing to the development of youth capabilities and strengthening their participation in the development process.

This was stated in a statement by Minister Al-Jalahma to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), on the sidelines of his participation in the 39th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports Committee, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the chairmanship of Sheikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, with the participation of GCC Secretary-General Jassem Al-Bedawi.

Minister Al-Jalahma expressed his gratitude to the brothers in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the leadership, government, and people, for their generous hospitality and warm welcome, praying to Almighty God that the path of excellence and success continues in the GCC countries.

Minister Al-Jalahma clarified that the meeting witnessed the adoption of the action plan for the GCC Ministers of Youth and Sports Committee for the period from 2025 to 2030, along with the youth activities and programs scheduled to be implemented in the coming years.

He added that a partnership with the private sector was adopted to invest in the youth field, thereby enhancing the skills and capabilities of youth across the GCC countries.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Minister Al-Jalahma honored several young people. The honors included the Al-Farsi drone team in the community initiatives category, while Yusuf Al-Husseini and Zaina Al-Muwaini were honored in the distinguished youth category, in recognition of their contributions and excellence in the youth field.

Minister Al-Jalahma urged the honored individuals to continue their dedication and excellence, and to encourage their peers among youth to participate, take initiative, and contribute to serving their communities.
