Kuwait condemns Iranian attack on Saudi tanker 'Sadr' in the Strait of Hormuz

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs”: A blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to global navigation security and energy supplies

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and denunciation of the reprehensible Iranian attack that targeted the Saudi tanker “Sidr” as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, which resulted in the deaths of the tanker’s crew. This act constitutes a blatant violation of international law and United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817, and poses a direct threat to the security and safety of maritime navigation and global energy supplies.

In a statement issued today, Wednesday, the Ministry emphasized the urgent need for an immediate halt to all escalatory actions and adherence to international law rules that guarantee freedom of navigation. It reaffirmed Kuwait’s rejection of any attack on the security and safety of maritime navigation.
