US Army: We have begun striking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets inside Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that U.S. forces began striking Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps targets inside Iran at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

CENTCOM stated that the strikes came in response to recent offensive attempts by the Revolutionary Guard, which targeted commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and U.S. military personnel deployed in the region.

Earlier, Axios reported that a U.S. official said the U.S. Air Force was conducting strikes on Iranian targets in the vicinity of the Strait of Hormuz.

In response, Iranian television reported hearing five explosions in the village of Masan on Qeshm Island and four explosions in the Strait of Hormuz.

Fars News Agency also reported hearing explosions in the cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, as well as in the cities of Kangan and Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, southeastern Iran.
