Minister of 'Social Affairs' and Lebanese Ambassador Discuss Enhancing Social and Humanitarian Cooperation

The Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, held talks with Ghadi Al-Khouri, the Ambassador of the Lebanese Republic to Kuwait, to explore ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries, particularly in social and humanitarian fields.

In a press statement issued on Monday, the Ministry of Social Affairs said that the meeting discussed prospects for developing institutional cooperation frameworks and coordinating on joint protocols and agreements in social affairs, thereby contributing to the exchange of expertise and experiences and enhancing programs and services provided to beneficiary groups.

The two sides also discussed areas of cooperation in caring for the elderly and supporting and empowering persons with disabilities, as well as leveraging exchanged experiences and expertise to develop the social care system and promote social integration and participation.

The statement clarified that the meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation between charitable associations and public benefit institutions in both countries, and to support joint humanitarian and social initiatives and projects, reflecting the deep fraternal and historical ties between the State of Kuwait and the Lebanese Republic.

The statement conveyed Minister Al-Huwail’s emphasis on the importance of continuing coordination and working to translate proposed areas of cooperation into practical programs and initiatives that serve common interests and bolster social and humanitarian efforts in both countries.
