The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, commended members of the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics who were instrumental in thwarting the largest operation of its kind in the history of the State of Kuwait to manufacture and traffic the psychoactive substance “Larica,” and awarded them a bonus in recognition of their security efforts and the competence and vigilance they demonstrated in uncovering the case and arresting those involved.

In a statement, the Ministry of Interior said that Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef emphasized during the ceremony that all of Kuwait is proud of the honored officers and the work they carried out, led by His Highness the Amir of the State, His Highness the Crown Prince, and His Highness the Prime Minister. He noted that their achievements are a source of pride and honor for Kuwaiti families, given their contribution to protecting the country’s citizens from the danger of these toxins.
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef stressed that this seizure should not be the end of the matter, directing that the investigation continue into all threads of the case to uncover anyone proven to be involved in importing or distributing the substances. He affirmed that “there is no favoritism, no covering up for anyone, and nothing is greater than Kuwait.”
He clarified that the main suspect admitted to refraining from trafficking the seized quantity out of fear of the new Anti-Narcotics Law and the vigilance of security personnel. He emphasized that the absolute support from His Highness the Amir serves as a backbone for all Ministry of Interior personnel across all ranks, and serves as a motivation to continue working without complacency in confronting criminals and smugglers.
He added that Kuwait deserves much from its sons, and that what the country has provided them exceeds what they can give it, no matter their efforts. He thanked the honored officers for their relentless efforts and urged them to continue their contributions and achieve further accomplishments in protecting the nation and safeguarding its security and stability.
This ceremony comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior’s approach to recognizing outstanding individuals and motivating security talents, thereby enhancing readiness and reinforcing the spirit of dedication and loyalty in the performance of duty.
