Flash floods sweep away a child in northern Lebanon

In a matter of moments, heavy rains transformed one of the streets in northern Lebanon into a raging watercourse, sweeping a young child away with the force of the current before local residents rushed to rescue him and pull him from the water.

The incident occurred on Saturday in the Bdaoui area of northern Lebanon, following heavy rainfall over a short period that led to flash floods and rising water levels in several streets.

A circulating video showed the child drifting with the water, as several people attempted to reach him amid the strong current before managing to pull him to safety.

Lebanese media reported that the child’s health condition is stable following the rescue.
