'Ministry of Interior': 2,756 violations, 232 vehicles impounded, and 14 fugitives apprehended in an extensive campaign

The General Directorate of Traffic conducted an extensive traffic campaign in several areas of the country, resulting in the issuance of 2,756 traffic violations, as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance traffic discipline and curb behaviors and violations that pose a risk to road users.

The Directorate clarified that the campaign was carried out through all field departments under the supervision of the Head of the Traffic and Operations Sector, Brigadier General Ahmed Fahad Al-Azmi, and led by the Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic, Brigadier General Rashid Hamoud Al-Hajeri, and the Assistant Director General for Traffic Regulation Affairs, Colonel Ayoub Ghazi Fathallah.

The campaign featured intensive field deployment of mobile traffic patrols on various roads, where high speeds were detected using radar devices, and traffic violations were identified by mobile patrols, with necessary legal actions taken against violators.

The campaign resulted in the issuance of 35 speeding violations, 243 violations of parking regulations, 940 violations of obstructing traffic flow, and 1,508 violations for failing to use turn signals.

Additionally, five individuals were placed in preventive detention, two cases were referred to the Juvenile Prosecution, and 232 vehicles were impounded in the impound lot. Furthermore, 14 wanted individuals and three wanted vehicles were apprehended and handed over to the competent authorities.
