Tenders for the design of the Food Authority building opened on September 27

- Extension of the technical study period by 15 days for tenders to remove sand from highways in the Northern and Southern regions

The Central Tenders Board has postponed the deadline for submitting bids for the tender on the project to prepare the study, design, and supervise the implementation of the permanent headquarters of the General Authority for Food and Nutrition to Sunday, September 27, instead of today.

The building is one of the construction projects being implemented by the Ministry of Public Works, which included the tender for the study, design, and supervision of implementation in its contract plan for the current financial year. Upon completion, a tender will be issued for the construction phase to provide a building that serves both the authority’s employees and auditors.

A building for the Inspection Administration staff in the Mubarak Al-Kabir Governorate is also planned, along with a theater and library, a building for sports fields and activities, a mosque, warehouses for sample cooling, a mobile vehicle inspection area, and parking facilities comprising ground-level and underground spaces with a capacity for 1,750 vehicles.

On another note, the Board decided in its meeting held last Tuesday to extend the technical study period by 15 days for the tenders to remove sand from highways in the Northern and Southern regions, following a request from the Ministry of Public Works to allow all bidders to complete outstanding requirements.

The Ministry aims, through the implementation of these tenders, to maintain the efficiency of the road network, particularly highways, and to enhance road safety while protecting property and lives, as the accumulation of sand is a seasonal phenomenon that causes large quantities of sand to encroach upon highways.
