'Interior': 36 arrested and 281 violations issued in campaign at 'Qurain Markets'

The Security Directorate of the Al-Mubarrah Al-Kabir Governorate carried out an extensive security operation in the Abu Futeirah Artisan Area “Al-Qurain Markets,” as part of ongoing security efforts to enforce the rule of law and apprehend violators and wanted individuals.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the operation involved the General Directorate of Traffic, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation, the Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, and the Public Authority for Manpower.

It clarified that the operation resulted in issuing 189 traffic violations, 42 violations by the Kuwait Municipality, placing 37 notices on abandoned vehicles, issuing 34 violations by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, detaining 22 individuals for expired residency permits, and issuing 16 violations by the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.

It added that the operation also led to the detention of six individuals violating residency laws, six wanted persons in connection with legal cases, the impoundment of two vehicles for traffic violations, the detention of one individual without proof of identity, the seizure of a vehicle wanted by the judiciary, and the detention of a person in possession of alcoholic beverages.

It noted that the necessary legal and administrative measures were taken against violators and wanted individuals, each according to their respective jurisdiction by the participating entities in the operation, and that cases requiring further action were referred to the competent authorities.
