Minister of Social Affairs: Installation of surveillance cameras in care homes to enhance safety

Al-Hawila: The system contributes to monitoring risks, tracking inmates’ needs, and improving the level of services provided to them.

Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Hawila, announced on Sunday that the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, has begun installing surveillance cameras in care homes in the Salwa and South Salmiya areas.

Al-Hawila stated that this step reflects the Authority’s commitment to protecting inmates and continuously monitoring their conditions, enhancing oversight, and raising safety standards within care homes.

She added that the installation of cameras will be completed across all departments, enabling the detection of any observations or potential risks to inmates and allowing for swift response.
