What will Apple reveal at its September 9 event?

Apple is preparing for one of its most significant events of the year, with attention focused on September 9 amid expectations that the company will unveil a new generation of iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods, headlined by its first-ever foldable phone.
Apple officially announced that its event will take place on Wednesday, September 9, at 10:00 AM Pacific Time, which corresponds to 8:00 PM Kuwait and Saudi Arabia time, under the theme “Beginnings Shine with Surprises.”
According to MacRumors, a technology news website, six products are highly likely to be revealed during the event: the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, the first foldable iPhone, Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, and AirPods 5.
The iPhone 18 Pro is expected to feature the A20 Pro chip, a smaller Dynamic Island, a simplified camera control button, and a new dark red color option.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max is likely to share most of the Pro model’s specifications, though it may be slightly thicker to accommodate a larger battery. It could also receive an exclusive variable aperture camera.
The foldable iPhone is drawing the most attention, as it will be the company’s first device of its kind. Reports suggest it may be named the “iPhone Ultra,” a name Apple has not yet officially confirmed. Leaks indicate it will feature both an internal foldable screen and an external display, two rear cameras, a front camera, and a power button equipped with Touch ID instead of Face ID.
iOS 27 is also expected to offer features tailored for the foldable phone, including side-by-side app running and multitasking capabilities closer to those found on iPads.
In the watch segment, the Apple Watch Series 12 is anticipated to deliver faster performance, longer battery life, and improved fitness tracking, with a ceramic case option available.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 is expected to bring further enhancements in fitness tracking and satellite connectivity, including map and messaging functions, though expectations for the inclusion of Touch ID have diminished.
Regarding AirPods 5, predictions suggest the launch of two new versions: one with active noise cancellation and another without.
In a notable shift to its release schedule, Apple is not expected to unveil the standard iPhone 18 during the September event. Latest reports indicate that the iPhone 18, along with the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2, have been delayed until spring 2027, as part of a strategy to split iPhone releases across two periods within the year.
The appearance of new Mac devices at the September event has also become less likely. Apple may reserve other products, such as the iPad Mini, Apple TV, HomePod Mini, and its new smart home hub, for separate announcements in October or November.
Thus, the September 9 event will primarily focus on the new iPhones, watches, and headphones, with the foldable phone remaining the most anticipated product, marking Apple’s first entry into this category of devices.
