'Iranian Resistance': 60 operations targeted IRGC and Basij sites in Tehran and 30 cities

The Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran announced that “Resistance units” carried out 60 operations in Tehran and 30 other Iranian cities on Thursday, August 27, targeting sites belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the Basij militia, and government and security centers, according to a statement. The operations were carried out in protest against plans, which the group said, the Iranian authorities are preparing to raise gasoline prices.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Secretariat said the operations were distributed across several cities, including Mashhad, Shiraz, Karaj, Yazd, Kermanshah, Arak, Bandar Abbas, Khorramabad, Ilam, Zahedan, Chabahar, and Dezful.

According to the statement, the targeted sites included headquarters and centers affiliated with the Basij and the IRGC, as well as government facilities and sites that the Secretariat of the Council claimed were linked to security and intelligence agencies. It noted the use of various methods to target these sites and the burning of symbols and images of leaders of the Iranian regime.

The Council linked the operations to its opposition to potential plans to raise gasoline prices, accusing the Iranian authorities and their affiliated forces of contributing to the worsening of the fuel crisis.

The statement also mentioned that participants in the operations chanted slogans against the leadership of the Iranian regime and in support of the National Council of Resistance of Iran.
