Coast Guard: 32 abandoned vessels accounted for, 3 individuals arrested in Nuq'at Shamalan

- Inquiry into 152 individuals and issuance of 3 violations during the field campaign

The General Directorate of Coast Guard, represented by the Maritime Security Department, carried out a field campaign in the East area, specifically in Na’at Shamlan, in coordination and cooperation with the General Security, the General Fire Force, the Environmental Police Department, the Public Authority for Environmental Affairs, and the Public Authority for Agriculture and Fisheries Affairs, to monitor violations and verify the status of individuals and vessels present at the site.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a press release that the campaign resulted in inquiries into 152 individuals, the documentation of 32 abandoned vessels in preparation for taking action against them, the issuance of 3 violations by the General Fire Force, the apprehension of two individuals in abnormal conditions, and the arrest of one person subject to an arrest warrant.

It added that the participating authorities took the necessary legal and administrative measures, each within its jurisdiction.

The General Directorate of Coast Guard emphasized the continuation of its field campaigns in cooperation with relevant authorities to curb violations and enhance security and safety in marine and coastal areas.
