Minister of 'Affairs': Referral of allegations of harm to public funds in the 'Disability Authority' to the Public Prosecution
Al-Hawila: Accountability will extend to anyone proven negligent or responsible, regardless of their position, without exception
The Minister of Social Affairs, Labor, and Social Affairs, Dr. Amtal Al-Hawila, announced on Saturday the referral of facts and allegations concerning damage to public funds at the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures against a number of officials and employees.
Minister Al-Hawila stated in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that this referral is the second within two weeks, and comes as part of the continued approach of oversight, accountability, and protection of public funds.

She clarified that the referral came in light of the findings of an investigation committee regarding violations related to maintenance works and contracts, and what it recorded of expenditures for quantities and works that were found not to have been fully executed on the ground, where the value of the damage under investigation was estimated at approximately 1.211 million dinars (about 3.95 million dollars).
Minister Al-Hawila emphasized that protecting public funds is a responsibility that allows for no leniency, affirming that all violations carrying a criminal suspicion will follow their legal course, with the adoption of necessary administrative and legal measures and efforts to recover any amounts spent without justification and to safeguard the rights of the Authority and public funds.
She confirmed that accountability will reach anyone proven negligent or responsible, regardless of their job position, without exception, and that oversight will continue to ensure integrity and proper management of public funds.
