Deputy Foreign Minister Discusses Strengthening Relations with Guinea-Bissau and Bangladesh

Kuwait officials congratulate the newly elected Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and reaffirm Kuwait’s continued support for the organization

Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mushaan met individually in Jeddah with Fatoumata Jawo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Communities of the Friendly Republic of Guinea-Bissau; Haimun Kabir, State Minister for External Affairs of the Friendly People’s Republic of Bangladesh; and Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release on Friday that these meetings took place on the sidelines of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of OIC Member States, held at the OIC Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah, to discuss developments in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The ministry added that during Ambassador Al-Mushaan’s meeting with Minister Fatoumata Jawo of Guinea-Bissau, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and discussed ways to enhance and develop them across various fields.

Likewise, during his meeting with State Minister Haimun Kabir of Bangladesh, the two sides reviewed bilateral ties, explored avenues for strengthening and developing cooperation in different areas, and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.

During his meeting with Sheikh Ahmed, Ambassador Al-Mushaan congratulated him on his election as Secretary-General of the OIC, wishing him success and prosperity in fulfilling his duties, and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to continuing its support for the organization and enhancing its role in serving the causes of the Islamic world.
