Trump signs executive order to rename Lake Ontario to 'Lake America'

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the signing of an executive order to change the name of Lake Ontario to “Lake America” in official designations within the United States, according to Reuters.

The decision came two days after Trump said the United States was “seriously considering” changing the lake’s name, justifying it by stating he did not expect to conduct much business with Ontario province in the future.

Lake Ontario is one of the five Great Lakes in North America, shared by the United States and Canada, with the international border running through its center. It is bordered by Canada’s Ontario province on one side and the US state of New York on the other.
