Kuwaiti Students Win 8 Medals at the International Geology Olympiad in Turin
Kuwait, represented by the Ministry of Education, achieved a distinguished scientific feat at the 19th International Geology Olympiad (Earth Sciences), held in Turin, Italy. The event featured participation from 42 countries and 166 students, with Kuwait being the sole Arab nation to take part in this international scientific forum.
In a statement, the Ministry of Education clarified that the Kuwaiti student team won eight medals, comprising gold, silver, and bronze, an achievement that reflects the high scientific level of Kuwaiti students and their ability to compete and secure top positions in international scientific arenas.

Student Ghaliya Nasser Al-Anzi won a gold medal as part of the International Field Investigation Team and a bronze medal in the Earth Systems project. Meanwhile, student Kawsar Ammar Al-Qattan secured two silver medals, one with the International Field Investigation Team and the other in the Earth Systems project.
Student Narjes Hani Sabti won a bronze medal with the International Field Investigation Team, while student Talal Ahmed Al-Mutairi achieved three medals: a silver medal with the International Field Investigation Team, a bronze medal in the Earth Systems project, and another bronze medal at the Olympiad level.
The Ministry praised this achievement, emphasizing that the team’s results reflect the scientific capabilities and competitive skills possessed by Kuwaiti students, as well as their serious efforts to develop their knowledge and achieve excellence in various scientific fields.
It affirmed that participation in international Olympiads and competitions represents an important opportunity to hone students’ talents, broaden their scientific horizons, and equip them with competitive experiences that contribute to building a generation capable of representing Kuwait honorably on the international stage.
The Ministry congratulated the winning students, expressing pride and admiration for their results, and commending their dedication, diligence, and competitive spirit, which contributed to raising Kuwait’s name and securing this collection of medals.
