Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, held talks in Tehran on Thursday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the latest developments in the region and the efforts underway to de-escalate tensions and create conducive conditions for dialogue, contributing to enhanced regional security and stability.

The meeting addressed ongoing discussions regarding the proposed interim framework, which includes establishing a temporary joint shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, alongside an agreement to implement a joint project to clear the strait of mines.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman emphasized the necessity of respecting the sovereignty of neighboring states and freedom of navigation, stressing the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve differences through dialogue.
