British actor Tim Curry dies at 80

British actor Tim Curry, one of the standout stars of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “It,” has died at the age of 80, after a prolific artistic career spanning decades in theater, film, and television.

His manager and friend of many years, Marsha Horowitz, confirmed that Curry died on Tuesday evening at his home in Los Angeles, without disclosing the cause of death.

Curry suffered a stroke in 2012 that impaired his mobility and forced him to use a wheelchair, but he continued his artistic activities, particularly in voice acting, and made a return to the big screen in 2024.

Curry was born on April 19, 1946, in Cheshire, England, and studied drama at the University of Birmingham before launching his professional career on London’s West End stages with the musical “Hair,” later moving on to work with prominent theater troupes.
