US Treasury Secretary: Pressure on Iran is bearing fruit; we will continue to cut off every lifeline supporting the regime
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that Iran’s leadership now acknowledges what the world sees, affirming that the pressure exerted by the United States on Tehran “is bearing fruit.”
Bessent added that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has acknowledged the economic crisis facing his country, pointing to his statement that the war “must end at some point.”
The US Treasury Secretary emphasized that Washington will continue to cut off every economic lifeline supporting the Iranian regime until Tehran finds itself isolated.
Bessent noted that Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf also acknowledged that Iran will not endure if its people suffer from hunger.
