Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences: $3 million from 'Olaad Ali Al-Ghanim' for emergency response

- To be added to national contributions supporting the fund

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced today that Al-Othaim Al-Ghanim Cars Company has made a contribution of $3 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. This donation adds to the national contributions supporting the fund and helps bolster its resources earmarked for financing priority interventions and projects.

In a press statement, the Fund noted that this contribution represents significant support for the progress of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, reflecting the continued participation of national institutions from various economic sectors in the initiative. This broadens the base of contributors and expands the scope of participation in supporting the Fund’s objectives.

The Fund added that the sustained contributions from private sector institutions reflect the high level of engagement the initiative has garnered since its launch. These contributions help provide additional resources that can be directed, according to established priorities, toward the needs and projects submitted by relevant government entities, particularly those related to the repair and rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure and services.

Al-Othaim Al-Ghanim Cars Company is a prominent Kuwaiti firm in the automotive sector, with a long-standing presence in the local market. Its operations include the sale and distribution of vehicles, after-sales services, maintenance, and spare parts, alongside a range of activities linked to the automotive industry, backed by extensive experience and a solid foothold in the Kuwaiti market.

The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was launched on July 5 last year, initiated by the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and approved by the Council of Ministers. The Kuwait Fund was tasked with managing and overseeing its operations, aiming to provide a flexible financing mechanism to support priority interventions and projects, and to enhance the country’s capacity to respond efficiently and effectively to emergency needs and circumstances.
