Casio Revives Its Classic Digital Watches with Smart Features
Returning to the past no longer means abandoning the advantages of the present; Casio is reviving its classic digital watch designs with a modern spirit that blends vintage aesthetics with smart functions, including step tracking, smartphone connectivity, and world time.
The company continues to add modern physical activity tracking features to its digital watches inspired by its retro designs, with the Casio F-B100W model now being launched more widely outside Japan.
The watch retains the traditional features familiar to Casio timepieces, including an LCD screen and a resin strap similar to rubber, while adding a suite of smart functions.

The watch can be paired with a smartphone app, allowing users to control various settings via Android or iOS devices. It also includes a “Find My Phone” feature, enabling users to make their phone ring from the watch if it is misplaced, according to a report by the technology news site Tech Radar.
The watch also offers step tracking, with the ability to set daily goals and monitor progress, either through the connected smartphone app or directly from the watch screen.
Other features include a calendar, stopwatch, and countdown timer, as well as the ability to display time in two different time zones across approximately 300 cities worldwide. The replaceable battery is expected to last around two years.
The new model reflects Casio’s trend of blending classic style with modern technology, a theme also evident in the watch’s promotional materials, which drew inspiration from the style of old advertisements and newspapers.
The design has received positive engagement on Reddit, with some users praising its classic look, while others expressed admiration for its appearance and willingness to purchase it.

The Casio F-B100W is currently available in the United Kingdom in black and green for £55. It has not yet been released through Casio stores in the United States, but based on prices of similar models, it is expected to cost around $95.
