Macron announces ban on mobile phones in French high schools starting from the new academic year
French President Emmanuel Macron announced on Monday the issuance of a law banning the use of mobile phones in high schools starting from the new academic year.
Macron stated in a post on his X social media account that “protecting children from the harmful effects of screen use can no longer wait,” adding that he had approved a law prohibiting mobile phones in high schools beginning with the new academic year, based on a proposal submitted by the committee on screen use.
He emphasized that “a school free of mobile phones means restoring the calm necessary for learning.”
