Kazma joins Al-Ittihad, Ajman, and Erbil in the Gulf Champions League

The draw for the 2026/2027 Gulf Club Champions League was held today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Gulf Football Federation in Doha, via video conferencing, with the participation of 12 Gulf clubs divided into three groups.

The results of the tournament draw, which kicks off on October 13 and concludes on April 30, 2027, have produced strong and exciting matchups for the participating teams.

Group A includes Saudi Arabia’s Al-Neom, Oman’s Al-Shabab, Qatar’s Al-Duhail, and Yemen’s Shabab Hadhramaut. Group B comprises UAE’s Al-Nassr, Qatar’s Al-Gharafa, Iraq’s Al-Zawraa, and Bahrain’s Riffa. Group C features Kuwait’s Kazma, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ettifaq, UAE’s Ajman, and Iraq’s Erbil.

The top two teams in each group advance directly to the quarter-finals, while only two third-placed teams from the groups qualify, based on the highest points accumulated during the tournament. The group stage matches are played in a two-legged league format, consisting of home and away games.

It is worth noting that the Gulf Club Champions League was first launched in 1982. Kuwait’s representative in the upcoming edition, Kazma Club, previously won the title twice, in 1987 and 1995, and finished as runners-up twice, in 1988 and 1997. Meanwhile, the defending champions, Qatar’s Al-Rayyan, are absent from this edition of the tournament.
