Under the slogan “The Journey Continues… Wings Carrying a Nation,” Al Jazeera Airways announced the signing of a new strategic sponsorship agreement with Al Qadsiah Sports Club, spanning three years. Through this agreement, the airline will continue its role as the main sponsor and official carrier of “Al-Malaki” (The Royal).

The agreement holds special significance as it is the first of its kind in the club’s history, featuring a three-year sponsorship deal with a single partner. This reflects the mutual trust between both parties and elevates the relationship from seasonal sponsorship to a long-term national partnership based on a shared vision to support Kuwaiti sports, youth, and the club’s fans.

The partnership agreement was signed yesterday morning at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre – Conference Hall, during a large press conference where the deal was announced. The event was attended by representatives from Al Jazeera Airways, Al Qadsiah Club, as well as coaches and players from the first team.

Al Jazeera’s sponsorship of Al Qadsiah stems from the company’s belief in its national and social responsibility, and in the role sports play in uniting Kuwaitis and strengthening belonging and connectivity, particularly among youth. It also reflects support for sports institutions that represent the country and elevate its name at local and international forums.

The commitment to a three-year sponsorship reflects a vision that goes beyond immediate support to contribute to creating a more stable sports environment. This provides the club with broader space for planning, developing initiatives, and enhancing communication with its fans. It also highlights the role the Kuwaiti private sector can play in supporting clubs and contributing to the development of national sports.

The partnership slogan, “The Journey Continues… Wings Carrying a Nation,” embodies the convergence of two prominent Kuwaiti brands: Al Jazeera Airways, which carries Kuwait’s name to various destinations worldwide, and Al Qadsiah Club, with its rich sporting history and national legacy built by generations of champions and fans.

The choice of Al Qadsiah is a natural extension of this direction, given the club’s national value, historical status, and wide fan base. Its name is associated with achievements, championships, and memories firmly embedded in the hearts of Kuwaitis. Through this partnership, Al Jazeera accompanies Al-Malaki on a new journey characterized by sustainability, ambition, and the pursuit of more championships and achievements.

By continuing as the main sponsor and official carrier of Al Qadsiah, Al Jazeera Airways reaffirms that supporting Kuwaiti sports is an integral part of its commitment to society. Its partnership with Al-Malaki represents an investment in a national institution that carries the legacy of Kuwaiti sports and the ambitions of future generations.

Al Qadsiah Board of Directors member, Mohammad Rida Maarfi, expressed his pride in the partnership, stating that it enhances the concept of sustainability in the sports sector.

He thanked the club’s marketing team for their efforts and cumulative work over the years, noting that the results of this work are gradually becoming evident at the club. He pointed out the club’s partnerships with various sectors, alongside the most important sector and partner in many state institutions: the private sector.

Maarfi stated, “Today, these partnerships and trust in this sector are strengthening. We are considered the locomotive leading sports marketing in Kuwait, and we reflect this on many sports institutions in the country.”

He added, “The result of this collaboration is evident in the continuation of our partnership with Jazeera Airways and its extension for three years,” noting that it “reflects the confidence of a major company and an important airline, one of the leading airlines in Kuwait and the region, in Al-Qadsia.”

He pointed to the club’s ambitions and determination to reach the podiums, saying, “Work will proceed at an accelerating pace, and we will achieve what we aspire to, and our fans will be treated in a manner befitting Al-Qadsia, and in a way that suits a company like Jazeera Airways.”

Maarfi emphasized that “this partnership enhances the concept of sustainability in the sports sector,” adding that “the next three years give us a greater opportunity and scope to work, and we assure everyone that the club will appear in a better light.”

For his part, Barathnabasubathy, CEO of Jazeera Airways, confirmed that the continued support for Al-Qadsia reflects the company’s commitment to Kuwait and its rich sporting heritage.

Basubathy said, “Today truly represents an important milestone, as Jazeera Airways is proud to renew its partnership with Al-Qadsia for another three years, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a distinguished partnership that unites a Kuwaiti airline with one of the oldest and most prestigious football clubs in Kuwait.”

He added that “Al-Qadsia represents a legacy built on determination, resilience, teamwork, and relentless pursuit of excellence, values that align closely with those we believe in at Jazeera Airways.”

He clarified, “As two strong Kuwaiti brands, we are united by ambition, our connection to the community, and our commitment to representing Kuwait with pride. Just as our aircraft carry the Kuwaiti flag to various parts of the world, we will be the national wings carrying Al-Qadsia’s ambitions, standing by the club during its competitions, travels, and moments of victory.”

Basubathy concluded, “As we say... Al-Qadsia is a nation, and Jazeera is a nation.”

For his part, Nasser Al-Obeidi, CEO of Government Affairs at Jazeera Airways, confirmed that the partnership brings together two Kuwaiti institutions that share similar values and a competitive spirit.

He said, “Today is a special moment for Jazeera Airways. We met in this very place exactly one year ago, on September 9, 2025, to sign the partnership and sponsorship contract with Al-Qadsia Club. After one year, and having proven that this partnership has been successful for both parties, we return.”

He added, “Last year, we began our journey with Al-Qadsia as the main sponsor and official airline partner. Today, we take this relationship further through our three-year commitment and standing by one of the oldest and most prestigious sports institutions in Kuwait.”

He continued, “We are proud once again that Jazeera Airways is the first to sign a three-year sponsorship agreement with Al-Qadsia Club,” emphasizing that “the partnership between Al-Qadsia Club and Jazeera Airways goes beyond sponsorship; it is a bond between two Kuwaiti institutions that share values, a warrior spirit, and authentic Kuwaiti identity.”

Al-Obeidi explained that “supporting youth and sports is part of our identity. The ‘Meet & Greet’ program launched last week in collaboration with Kuwaiti universities to attract outstanding graduates to the company’s Future Leaders program is evidence of this.”

Al-Obeidi noted that extending a partnership is among the most difficult things to sustain, and that a partnership requires unified goals. “Praise be to God, there is a unification of objectives between us and Al-Qadsia, which led us to extend the partnership for the next three years.”

Al-Obeidi concluded, “Our presence today is a confirmation of our belief in Al-Qadsia Club. Our slogan today is that the journey continues... wings carrying a nation.”

For his part, Al-Obeid attributed Jazeera Airways’ resilience and continued operations despite geopolitical circumstances to the “warrior spirit” that characterizes Jazeera.

Speaking at the event, Al-Obeid said, “Regarding the warrior spirit, you are all aware of the difficulties faced by the aviation sector due to geopolitical conditions, which led to the closure of airports for 57 days.” He noted that, despite this, Jazeera Airways did not surrender and continued its flights, connecting Kuwait to the outside world through the Burqa project and at airports in the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, transporting more than 200,000 passengers.

He emphasized, “This is the spirit we embody on both sides, and it is what unites Al-Qadsia and Jazeera.”

Privileges for “Al-Qadsia” at Jazeera

On the sidelines of the conference, Al-Obeid responded to a question regarding the benefits Jazeera provides to Al-Qadsia Club, beyond financial support, clarifying that “the partnership is not limited to financial support; it extends far beyond that.”

He added, “For us, as an aviation sector, our priority is presence, logistical support, media support, in addition to financial support. As for Al-Qadsia Club, we are very pleased with our partnership with them and proud to be associated with a historic club like Al-Qadsia, which boasts a large fan base. We will make specific arrangements with the supporters’ association, granting special privileges to Al-Qadsia Club members through Jazeera Airways.”
