Officially... Oversight of the Capital Markets Authority transferred to the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment

Decree No. 130 of 2026 was issued, transferring supervision of the Capital Markets Authority to the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, and it was published in the official gazette, “Kuwait Al-Yaum,” in its edition issued today, Sunday.

Article One of the decree stipulates that supervision of the Capital Markets Authority shall be transferred to the Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investment, who shall exercise all authorities assigned to the competent minister in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 7 of 2010 concerning the establishment of the Capital Markets Authority and the regulation of securities activities, and its amendments.

Article Two stipulates that the Prime Minister and ministers shall each be responsible for implementing the decree within their respective areas of competence, and that it shall take effect from the date of its issuance and be published in the official gazette.
