Why can’t people agree on loving this individual, whether he is an artist, a merchant, an official, or any other public figure, even if God has endowed him with good character, kindness, and other noble traits? Ask why.
The answer is that human beings are not alike in temperament. After excluding the first category of the majority—those who fear God in their judgment of others—we are left with the second category, composed of the resentful, the envious, and the hateful.
