Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili confirmed on Saturday that the selection of candidates for cooperative supervisory positions is based on an integrated process grounded in competence, merit, transparency, and equal opportunity.
This statement was made by Minister Al-Huwaili in an interview with the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), marking the launch of exams for applicants vying for 90 positions as financial and administrative supervisors in the cooperative sector, with 720 male and female citizens participating. This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to attract national talent and strengthen the oversight framework for cooperative societies.

Al-Huwaili noted that the offered positions include 30 financial supervisor roles and 60 administrative supervisor roles, emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to selecting qualified national personnel capable of fulfilling supervisory responsibilities and contributing to safeguarding cooperative funds while enhancing financial and administrative performance efficiency.
She clarified that the exams were prepared and administered in collaboration with the American University in Kuwait, aiming to apply objective standards for measuring the professional and academic competence of applicants, thereby reinforcing the integrity and credibility of the selection procedures.
The exams were held in two sessions, morning and evening, under comprehensive administrative and technical organization. Al-Huwaili explained that the exams are monitored via cameras and visually documented, with established supervisory procedures implemented to ensure discipline and provide equal opportunities for all applicants.
Minister Al-Huwaili stated that passing the exam requires achieving a score of no less than 80% to advance to the personal interview stage before the specialized committee within the ministry. She noted that the interview accounts for 10% of the final evaluation, allowing for a comprehensive assessment of the candidates’ academic and professional attributes.
In this regard, she stressed that the ministry will spare no effort in developing cooperative oversight tools and empowering qualified national talent. She highlighted that financial and administrative supervisors play a pivotal role in monitoring cooperative societies’ compliance with governing laws and regulations, identifying observations, and addressing them, thereby safeguarding the rights of shareholders.
In the same context, Al-Huwaili indicated that this step falls within the ministry’s plan to develop the cooperative sector and complete the policy of Kuwaitization, building a more efficient and effective supervisory apparatus. This aligns with the state’s direction toward improving government performance and enhancing governance and integrity.
She expressed her best wishes for success to all applicants, affirming that exam results and subsequent procedures will be subject to announced controls and standards without exception, and that selection will be based on competence and merit, ensuring the choice of the best national candidates.
