Lebanon: Israeli occupation forces bombarded areas in the south of the country with phosphorus shells

The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the Israeli occupation forces shelled several areas in southern Lebanon early Saturday morning with phosphorus shells and artillery, coinciding with aerial raids and bombing operations carried out in towns in the Nabatieh and Tyre districts.

The agency stated that Israeli artillery heavily shelled the outskirts of the Douhat Kafr Rumman area, the vicinity of Tell al-Dabsha, and the Harat Ali al-Taher forest in the Nabatieh district, using phosphorus shells.

It added that the Israeli warplane launched two raids at approximately 06:45 local time on the Ali al-Taher heights at the northern outskirts of the town of Nabatieh al-Fouqa.

In the Tyre district, the town of Mansouri, the vicinity of Beit el-Siad, and the outskirts of Majdal Zoun were subjected to intense Israeli artillery shelling and widespread bombing operations early Saturday.

The agency noted that continuous Israeli bombing and shelling resulted in the destruction of all houses in Beit el-Siad, while similar bombing operations were carried out in the towns of Haddatha, Beit Yahoun, and Aita al-Jabal in the Bint Jbeil district, along with sweeping operations involving machine guns in the adjacent valleys.

This coincided with the continuous flight of Israeli drones over the skies of villages and towns in the western and central sectors of southern Lebanon.

No immediate information was available regarding casualties resulting from the raids, shelling, and bombing operations.
