Interior Ministry: Registration opens for 'Corporal' NCO course for high school graduates on Sunday
The Education and Training Affairs Sector of the Ministry of Interior announced the opening of registration for applications from candidates wishing to join the third cohort of the Non-Commissioned Officer Cadets Course (Rank: Corporal), open to holders of a secondary school certificate (scientific or literary streams) or its equivalent, at the Non-Commissioned Officer Institute affiliated with the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences.
The Ministry clarified in a statement that registration begins at 12:00 noon on Sunday, August 23, 2026, via the unified government application "Sahel," and will continue until the required number of seats for the course is filled.
The Ministry stipulated that applicants must be at least 165 centimeters tall, aged between 18 and 28 years old as of August 23, 2026, and meet the general admission requirements. These include being a Kuwaiti national by birth (from a Kuwaiti father), having a good reputation and conduct, and passing the initial height and weight tests, medical examination, general knowledge and aptitude tests, psychological assessments, physical fitness tests, and the personal interview.
It was further indicated that an applicant will be deemed unfit if they score less than 60% of the total marks allocated for any test, and will be excluded from continuing with subsequent tests if they fail to achieve the required percentage. In cases where the number of candidates who meet the admission criteria exceeds the required number for the course, the selection will be determined by a lottery system.
The study period lasts 16 weeks (one academic term). Graduates will receive a certificate of completion for the foundational training course and will be appointed to the first rank of "Corporal" to serve in the Police Force upon successful completion of the course. During the study period, they will receive a monthly financial allowance of 250 Kuwaiti Dinars.
The Ministry noted that the submission of documents to the Registration and Admissions Department will take place according to the schedule specified via the "Sahel" application, after printing the application form and verifying the accuracy of the attached data. All reviews will be conducted through Gate No. 4 of the Registration and Admissions Department at the Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences. Applicants must attend wearing black trousers and a white T-shirt. The Ministry emphasized that review schedules are not subject to change.
