Kuwait U-18 handball team loses to Qatar in the Asian Handball Championship
Kuwait’s junior handball team suffered a 19-30 defeat to their Qatari counterparts on Friday in the 11th Asian Championship, which serves as the qualifier for the 2027 Junior Handball World Cup. The tournament, hosted in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, features 10 national teams and runs until August 31.
In their second match of the championship, the “Blue Hands” conceded to Qatar, with the Qatari side dominating from the first quarter, which ended with a 10-goal margin (17-7). Although Kuwaiti players showed relative improvement in the second half, it was not enough to alter the final score.
Kuwait’s tally remains at two points, while Qatar’s total has risen to four points.
Kuwait began their campaign in the Asian Championship on Thursday with a 29-19 victory over Syria. They are competing in Group 2, which also includes Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Qatar.
