The Ministry of Health announced that a minor electrical short circuit occurred yesterday evening in a computer unit at an administrative office in Jabir Al-Ahmad Hospital, away from areas providing healthcare services, which led to smoke odor seeping into some patient wards.
In a statement issued today, the Ministry clarified that the incident was handled and brought under control immediately in accordance with approved safety and security procedures. Several patients were temporarily relocated as a precautionary measure and were returned after confirming the safety of the affected areas.
The Ministry noted that Deputy Minister of Health Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, Assistant Undersecretary for Engineering and Projects Engineer Ibrahim Al-Naham, and Director of Jabir Al-Ahmad Hospital Dr. Nada Al-Hasan were present at the site to monitor procedures on the ground and ensure patient safety and the smooth flow of operations.
Conditions returned to normal within a short period, and healthcare services continue to operate normally and safely.
