The Story of the 'Steadfast' Man on Kuwait's Service

The Story of the 'Steadfast' Man on Kuwait's Service

Discipline remained in his punctuality, firmness in his decisions, loyalty in his relationships, and dignity in his presence.

Manif Naif

With commanding features that carried a touch of field sternness, and something greater than the kindness of men whom life taught that true strength requires resilience in times of hardship, and courage when facing challenges.

From the very first moment he entered the military field, a calm and reassuring smile was on his face, yet it did not conceal the marks of leadership. In his eyes was the alertness of a soldier accustomed to noticing details, and in his voice was the steadiness of one who spent many years knowing that words have weight, decisions carry responsibility, and duty holds sanctity.

He combined in his personality two beautiful opposites: firmness when firmness is a duty, and gentleness when gentleness is a mark of chivalry. He knew when to be resolute, and when to be a father, a brother, and a friend.

His dignity was never a barrier between him and people; rather, it was a dignity mixed with respect and reassurance, making you feel in his presence that you are before a strong man, yet at the same time before a heart that knows mercy.

Years of service, for him, were not merely an age passed between ranks and positions, but a school that shaped his personality and instilled in him discipline, precision, and commitment. He believed that a true soldier begins with disciplining himself before demanding discipline from others. As for the homeland, it was not in his dictionary a slogan uttered on occasions, but a meaning he lived every day; a quiet patriotism that does not seek applause, and sincerity that expects no reward, and loyalty to the place that carried his flag and served him for years of his life.

He believed that serving the homeland is an honor, protecting its security is a trust, and the most beautiful thing a soldier leaves behind is not the number of positions he held, but a clean record, a good reputation, and an impact that remains in people.

When his years of service in the Ministry of Interior sectors ended in 2009, discipline remained in his punctuality, firmness in his decisions, loyalty in his relationships, and dignity in his presence.

The rank may be retired, but the personality of a leader knows no retirement.

He is a man who, when entering a gathering, does not need to introduce himself much; something in his posture tells you he lived a life of responsibility, something in his calmness says he knew difficult situations, and something in his smile confirms that those years, despite their harshness, could not deprive him of his humanity.

A leader made by circumstances before ranks, and refined by responsibility before positions granted him status. He carries in his features the firmness of a soldier, in his smile the kindness of a father, in his stature the dignity of men, and in his heart a homeland he continued to serve until his last day in the field, and continued to carry with him after he left it. He is Retired Lieutenant General Thabet Mohammed Al-Muhanna, a man known by Kuwait and who knows it, to the extent that you might feel it has settled within him before his ancestors settled it there since ancient times.

This man’s story, written over more than four decades of contribution, situations, and events, was witnessed by his career in the fields of security work and national service, leaving the legacy of “Abu Mohammed” present with the experience and leadership traits it carries, and a journey that can serve as a beacon for a young man seeking a role model, and for every aspirant striving for leadership.

Lieutenant General Al-Muhanna witnessed, during his tenure in several positions at the Ministry of Interior, important stages in Kuwait’s history, in a career full of contribution and achievement, leading to his retirement as a Lieutenant General.

In 2014, he was appointed Governor of the Capital, bringing with him years of experience and the spirit of a field official, as he viewed the capital as Kuwait’s face and its commercial and historical heart. During that period, he attended many national and social occasions, and remained following up on the governorate’s issues and facilities, relying on his long security and administrative experience.

Thus, Thabit Mohammed Al-Mahna’s career was not merely a progression through ranks and positions, but the story of a man who remained steadfast in a single principle: “Serving Kuwait is a responsibility that does not end with the conclusion of one’s tenure, and a man’s legacy endures through the character and actions he leaves behind in the memory of the people and the nation.”
