The Strategic Plan for 'Ports' under the 'Accountability' Authority
The Kuwait Ports Authority today referred to the Court of Audit a tender for providing consulting services and preparing the Authority’s strategic plan, with a total value of 2.537 million Kuwaiti dinars, to apply pre-contractual control procedures, auditing, review, and issue approval for contracting.
In a related development, the Authority recently obtained approval from the Board of Directors of the Central Tenders Committee, by a majority of its members, to award the tender to (Aataa Wahid) following a valuation-based budgeting process.
Through this tender, the Authority seeks to achieve several objectives, including institutional transformation toward a flexible and effective system capable of responding to future challenges, as well as governing operations and procedures, activating accountability and transparency systems, and enhancing operational efficiency and revenues. This will be accomplished by developing services and activities within the ports and logistics services, and improving infrastructure and technology to keep pace with global best practices. Additionally, the Authority aims to build the capacities of national cadres and prepare middle-level leaders to qualify them for future senior positions.
