US Treasury Secretary: We will impose the harshest sanctions on Iran... its economic isolation will be the greatest in history
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the United States would impose the harshest sanctions on Iran, asserting that these measures would, in his words, lead to the collapse of the Iranian regime.
Bessent stated that Washington would work to bring down the Iranian regime, noting that the economic isolation imposed on Tehran would be “the largest in history.”
He added that the United States controls the Strait of Hormuz, through which large quantities of oil pass.
The U.S. Treasury Secretary called on America’s allies and the rest of the world to cease dealings with the Iranian regime.
