'Ministry of Interior': Return to legal deadlines for entry stamps and leave permits effective September 1
The Ministry of Interior announced the termination of exceptional measures and the resumption of applying legal time limits for entry permits and leave permits, effective September 1, 2026.
The Ministry clarified that, starting September 1, 2026, the automatic extension of all types of entry permits (“Visit”) for individuals present in the country will be discontinued, and the legal time limits and regulations governing entry permits will be enforced.
It added that, from the same date, the legal time limits for leave permits for residents residing abroad will be reinstated. However, the additional exceptional period will continue to apply to residents who left the country on August 31, 2026, or earlier, in accordance with the relevant regulations.

The Ministry noted that the residence license verification certificate issued via the “Sahel” app serves as the official and authoritative reference for determining the expiration date of a leave permit. Residents are required to adhere to the specified duration stated therein upon their return to the country.
The Ministry of Interior urged everyone to comply with the provisions of the law and the governing regulations.
