'Ministry of Public Works': 92% of infrastructure works completed in Al-Yarmouk
Completion of the sewage and stormwater drainage networks at 100%, with progress in road and lighting works
The Minister of Public Works, Dr. Noura Al-Mushaan, directed the monitoring of infrastructure works in the Yarmouk area. Today, Thursday, the Director General of the General Administration of Health Engineering Affairs, Engineer Anwar Mohammed Al-Balushi, conducted a field visit to Contract “H.S/193,” which covers the implementation of infrastructure works in the area.
According to a report from the Ministry of Public Works, the execution of the contract began on April 3, 2024, with a planned duration of three years.
The actual completion rate of the project has reached 92% to date, compared to 72% according to the approved schedule.
Completed works include the full completion of both the sewage network and the stormwater drainage network, each at 100%. The telephone network has reached a completion rate of 97%, and the street lighting network has reached 98%.
Additionally, all works related to curbs and paving have been completed at 100%, alongside the completion of asphalt works for the “II” base layer across Plots 1, 2, 3, and 4 at 100%.
The completion rate for asphalt works using the “I” and “II” layers on main streets stands at 85%, while the completion rate for asphalt works using the “III” layer in Plots 1 and 2 has reached 60%.
Currently, asphalt works using the “III” layer are ongoing in Plots 3 and 4, as well as on main streets.
