Naval commanders of GCC member states discuss enhancing maritime security and navigation safety in the Gulf

The commanders of the naval forces of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) armed forces concluded today, Wednesday, the work of the 24th meeting, hosted by the Bahrain Defense Force, represented by the Royal Bahraini Navy, with the attendance of Major General Salman Al-Fadalah, Assistant Secretary for Military Affairs at the GCC Secretariat General, and Major General Abdulaziz Al-Balawi, Commander of the GCC Unified Military Command.

The meeting discussed a number of agenda items aimed at continuing to develop operational aspects of the maritime system related to maritime security, and enhancing navigational safety in the waters of the Arabian Gulf.

The meeting also explored ways to coordinate roles and unify operational and defensive concepts, and to strengthen cooperation and integration in the implementation of joint operations, thereby supporting the role of maritime security in the GCC states in facing various challenges, and enhancing the security of freedom of navigation and the safety of maritime routes in the region.
