According to Entertainment Weekly, the Greenville County Medical Examiner’s Office in South Carolina stated that the autopsy revealed no signs of injury or trauma that could have contributed to her death, noting that determining the cause and manner of death remains pending the completion of further tests and investigations.
The office added that toxicology results could take approximately eight weeks, though they may be released earlier.
Panettiere was found unconscious and in cardiac arrest at her residence in Greenville on Sunday, August 16. Emergency responders attempted to revive her on-site without success before her death was declared.
In the latest developments, the Associated Press reported, citing a Greenville police report, that Brian Hickerson, who had an on-and-off relationship with Panettiere, and his brother Zach were present at the scene when police arrived, while paramedics were attempting to resuscitate the actress.
