Ministry of Social Affairs Grants Associations 30 Days to Complete the Kuwaitization of Supply Branch Officials

Sources told Al-Siyasa that the Federation of Consumer Cooperative Societies has urgently addressed the boards of directors of the cooperative societies regarding the completion of procedures for Kuwaitizing the position of “Supply Branch Manager” among support roles, in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor and the policy of replacement and Kuwaitization of jobs in the cooperative sector.

The Federation emphasized the necessity for the executive bodies of the cooperatives to review the Ministry’s letter, particularly the provisions prioritizing national talents for the position of “Supply Branch Manager,” in line with the state’s direction toward enhancing citizen participation in the cooperative sector, empowering them to hold supervisory and support positions, and improving institutional performance efficiency.

The circular further confirmed that the position may not be held by a non-Kuwaiti as long as a Kuwaiti candidate meeting the required conditions is available, with priority given to national talents employed within the cooperatives during the nomination and appointment procedures.

In the event that a cooperative lacks a national talent to fill the position, it must notify the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor of the reasons for the unavailability, to coordinate with relevant authorities to provide suitable national talents.

The Federation requested that the cooperatives implement the directives outlined in the Ministry’s letter and set a 30-day deadline from the date of the circular to take the necessary measures in this regard, while informing the concerned authorities of the actions taken.
