Rahma Riyadh: "I'm lost without the beauty of his eyes... I've become lost without him."
Following the success of “The Devil’s Throne,” she continues to woo her audience with provocative solo singles.
True to her unique style of engaging with her fans, the young Iraqi artist Rahma Riad chose to captivate her audience with her latest song, “Wili,” sung in the Iraqi dialect. She encouraged her followers by posting a video of herself in a stunning appearance, wearing a beautiful, elegant, and soft sky-blue dress, set against a breathtaking natural backdrop. She captioned the post: “Wili, today at 5 PM.” She followed this with another video containing a snippet of the song, adding: “Wili, available now. Lyrics: Fuqar Al-Majid. Music: Qabas Yousef. Arrangement: Omar Sabbagh.”
The lyrics of the song read:
Wili, from the beauty of his eyes, I have become lost without him.
In his embrace, I am lost.
My day ends with its important moments passing by quickly.
Rahma Riad had been active recently, holding a concert in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, specifically in the capital, Riyadh. This performance came after a four-year absence, featuring a distinct and memorable Iraqi night on the Princess Nora stage. She presented a musical program that blended Iraqi music with her own works and Gulf songs, during an evening that was fully attended. Among the notable songs she performed were: “Kalam Al-Hubb” (Words of Love), “Tali’a Min Beit Abiha” (Coming from Her Father’s House), “Fawq Al-Nakhl” (Above the Palms), “Wink Habibi” (Where Are You, My Love?), “Illa Aqillihim” (Unless I Reduce Them), “Halw Ha Al-Shu’oor” (Sweet Is This Feeling), “Sab’ Sa’adat” (Seven Happinesses), “Wa’d Minni Wa’d” (A Promise from Me, A Promise), “Matr Matr” (Rain, Rain), “Atahaddakum” (I Challenge You), “Ma Ko Minni” (There Is Nothing from Me), “Salamtak Bi Yad Allah” (I Entrust You to God’s Hand), “Al-Kawkab” (The Planet), “Ba’d Al-Hubb” (After Love), as well as “Arsh Al-Shaytan” (The Devil’s Throne). The latter features lyrics and music by Saif Al-Faris, arrangement by Muhb Al-Rawi, and direction by Murad Al-Turk. The song serves as the theme for the Iraqi series “Arsh Al-Shaytan,” which aired on Dijlah Channel and the platform. The work balanced suspense and excitement, depicting a complex gray area where the protagonist, Rehf, wavers between the hammer of ambition and the anvil of defeat, finding herself a player in a ruthless family power struggle and a victim of circumstances that stripped away the mask of innocence from her life. Within a plot charged with tension, the series delves into the depths of psychological breakdown and betrayal, where interests clash and principles erode under the weight of power, culminating in a fateful confrontation between good and evil, where the price of loss is settled. The series is directed by Murad Turk, written by Muhammad Khamsas, and stars Alexander Aloum, Saif Al-Sharif, Sinan Al-Azzawi, Nadine Al-Fahd, Ali Jabir, and Nahid Mahdi.

She also sang the theme song for the series “Hikayat Nargis” (The Story of Nargis), titled “Tastina Eh” (What Are You Waiting For?), with lyrics by Nader Abdullah and music by Aziz Al-Shafie. The story unfolds under the pressure of harsh societal perceptions, as Nargis slides down a slope of lies and crimes in a desperate attempt to build a fake family that would grant her stability, only to find herself facing a tragic fate she had not anticipated.
The series is directed by Samih Alaa, written by Ammar Sabri, and stars actress Reham Abdel Ghafour, Hamza Al-Ayly, Tamer Nabih, Youssef Raafat, Ahmed Azmi, and Arefa Abdel Rasoul. Additionally, she performed a duet with artist Nassif Zaitoun on the song “Lamma WadaHka” (A Meeting and a Laugh), with lyrics by Fuqar Al-Majid and music by Qabas Yousef. The lyrics carry many significant meanings, most notably human relationships and the importance of maintaining bonds between people despite the passage of years.
