Syrian security arrests Major General Suhail al-Abbas, one of the officers of the ousted regime

Syrian Internal Security Forces arrested Brigadier General Suhail Nadim Abbas, an officer in the regime of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, after it was established that he participated in a number of military operations and violations against Syrians in several provinces.

The Internal Security Forces stated in a statement via its account on the “X” platform that investigations revealed Abbas’s participation in the battles of Tal al-Safa in Sweida in 2018 in his capacity as commander of an assault group, as well as his involvement in military operations in Daraa, Homs, and Idlib.

It added that investigations also confirmed that he issued orders to open fire and to use artillery and rocket launchers during several of those operations.

The detainee has been referred to the competent judiciary to complete legal procedures against him.
