Pakistani Prime Minister: We will continue with Saudi Arabia and Turkey to play a constructive role in defending our country and the region

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif affirmed that his country, in cooperation with Saudi Arabia and Turkey, will continue to play a constructive role in ensuring the defense of Pakistan and the entire region.

Sharif’s comments came in response to a tweet by US President Donald Trump regarding the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement, in which he expressed his “deep appreciation” for Trump’s supportive remarks on the occasion of the agreement’s signing.

The Pakistani Prime Minister praised what he described as Trump’s “courageous and decisive leadership,” emphasizing that it contributed to averting a “nuclear catastrophe in South Asia and saving millions of lives.”

Sharif stressed that achieving lasting peace represents the “fundamental prerequisite for a bright and prosperous future” for the peoples of the region.
