Trump: We will deliver a strong economic strike against Iran
-It doesn’t matter to me whether the strike occurs before or after the midterm elections
-The USS Abraham Lincoln is soon to depart the Middle East, with another carrier preparing to replace it
US President Donald Trump vowed to deliver a strong economic blow to Iran, insisting that the timing of this move would not be influenced by the US midterm elections.
Trump told Fox News, “We will hit Iran economically with great force,” adding, “We will deliver a powerful economic strike against Iran, and I don’t care whether it happens before or after the midterm elections.”
Earlier on Friday, Trump told reporters that the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln would soon leave the Middle East region in a routine move, with another carrier set to replace it.

He stated that the Lincoln would depart the region soon and be replaced by “another ship very similar to it.” US media reports indicated that the USS George Washington is preparing to head to the Middle East to take the place of the USS Abraham Lincoln.
Trump rejected claims about the concerns of military families aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln regarding living conditions on the vessel, which has been deployed in support of operations in the Middle East for nearly nine months.
He said on this matter, “No, those allegations are not true; the time the aircraft carrier has spent in the region has not actually been long.”
These comments come as Democratic lawmakers are urging the US administration to provide clarifications on the conditions of the aircraft carrier’s crew, following concerns raised by families of sailors aboard about deteriorating living conditions and declining mental health during the ship’s deployment, which set a record for the duration of military operations against Iran.
