Interior Ministry: Resident practicing medicine without a license arrested at her residence

- Provided consultations and examinations for 5 to 30 dinars and prepared herbal mixtures for sale

The Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations (Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes Control Department), arrested an Azerbaijani resident who practiced medicine without a license, exploiting her private residence in the Jaber Al-Ahmad area as a fully equipped health facility in exchange for monetary payments.

The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement today that the arrest operation followed intelligence reports indicating that the suspect was receiving patients, providing medical consultations and examinations, as well as preparing, selling, and distributing herbal mixtures without obtaining the necessary approvals and licenses from the competent authorities. Investigation and inquiry efforts confirmed the accuracy of this information.

It added that, after obtaining the required legal authorization, a team from the Counterfeiting and Forgery Crimes Control Department was formed, in collaboration with the Women’s Police, and proceeded to the site. There, they arrested the suspect while she was practicing medicine without a license. It was found that the residence had been set up as a fully equipped medical clinic, with a portion of it dedicated to preparing and manufacturing herbal mixtures and preparing their labels.

The arrest operation resulted in the discovery of a cash amount of 11,651 Kuwaiti dinars, a medical bed, several tools used for examinations, a white coat, a register for recording patient data, as well as tools and materials for preparing herbal mixtures and their labels.

Upon being confronted with the findings of the investigations and the seized items, the suspect admitted to operating the residence as an unlicensed medical facility and providing consultations and examinations for fees ranging between 5 and 30 Kuwaiti dinars.

Appropriate legal measures were taken against her, and she was referred to the competent authority to take the necessary action in accordance with the law.
