Half-year profits of 'Kuwait National Bank of Egypt' surged 30% to EGP 3.1 billion

Pre-tax profit recorded 40% growth, reaching EGP 4.5 billion

The National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt announced strong financial results for the first half of 2026, recording net profits of EGP 3.1 billion for the period ending June 30, 2026, representing a 30% growth compared to EGP 2.4 billion during the same period last year.

In a press release, the bank stated that pre-tax profit grew by 40% to reach EGP 4.5 billion, compared to EGP 3.2 billion during the same period in 2025. Net income from interest also rose by 34% in the first half of this year to reach EGP 5.1 billion, compared to EGP 3.8 billion during the corresponding period last year.

The bank’s total assets increased by 10% to reach EGP 196.7 billion, compared to EGP 178.1 billion at the end of December 2025.

Total customer deposits also grew by 15% to EGP 161.6 billion, compared to EGP 141 billion at the end of 2025, while the total loan portfolio rose by 7% to EGP 93.5 billion, compared to EGP 87.6 billion at the end of 2025.

Commenting on these results, Ali Ma’arfi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Kuwait-Egypt, affirmed that the strong performance in the first half of this year adds a new achievement to the bank’s track record since the National Bank of Kuwait Group’s acquisition in 2015, within the framework of the relentless pursuit of the group’s objectives and maximizing shareholders’ equity.

He added, “We will continue to build and develop in the coming period, relying on our confident future vision and sound institutional approach, ensuring the bank remains among the leading banks in the Egyptian banking sector.”

Ma’arfi clarified that the bank continued to enhance its positive social impact by launching and implementing numerous corporate social responsibility initiatives, as part of its commitment since commencing operations in the Egyptian market to create a positive impact on society. He noted that these efforts received strong support from bank employees through their participation in volunteer programs, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to continuing financial and moral support for the most vulnerable groups through these initiatives to achieve sustainable community development and reach a more cohesive society.

For his part, Khaled Al-Salawi, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the National Bank of Kuwait – Egypt, stated that the bank’s strong operational performance has enabled it to consolidate its financial position, enhancing its capacity to navigate economic changes and address various challenges efficiently.
