Cristiano Ronaldo Announces His Marriage to Georgina Rodriguez in Portugal
After years of a relationship that evolved into one of the most famous celebrity romances in sports, Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez have entered a new chapter, tying the knot in a private civil ceremony held on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal.
The event took place in an atmosphere described as “private and intimate,” with attendance limited to a small circle, while their five children participated in the occasion.
Ronaldo, 41, announced his marriage by posting a photo of his and Georgina’s hands wearing wedding rings, accompanied by a brief caption reading “CG.”
The British newspaper Daily Mail quoted a spokesperson for Ronaldo confirming the official completion of the marriage, stating that Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, in the presence of their five children.
The wedding came days after rumors circulated about a church wedding in Portugal, prompting some of Ronaldo’s fans to gather before the news was proven false.
The marriage, which took place on August 11, coincided with the first anniversary of Georgina, 32, announcing her engagement to Ronaldo on the same date in 2025, when she posted a photo of her engagement ring and confirmed her acceptance of the proposal.
Ronaldo and Georgina’s relationship began in 2017, after they met while she was working at a Gucci store, before they officially appeared together for the first time at FIFA’s The Best awards ceremony in Zurich.
Ronaldo had previously discussed the beginning of their relationship on Georgina’s reality show “I Am Georgina,” saying he did not initially expect it to become so strong, before later realizing she was “the woman of his life.”
