Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences: 75 million dinars in contributions from 68 entities to the Emergency Response Fund
The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund continues to bolster its financial resources, with total contributions from donors reaching approximately 75.37 million Kuwaiti dinars, provided by 68 entities from both the public and private sectors. This figure reflects the broadening base of national participation and growing confidence in the initiative since its launch.
Rashid Al-Badr, Acting Director General of the Fund, told KUNA yesterday that the volume of contributions demonstrates the high level of trust the Fund has garnered since its inception, underscoring the engagement of contributing entities with its national mission and strategic objectives.
He noted that the Fund has begun receiving initial requests related to damaged projects and facilities from the Ministries of Public Works, Health, Electricity and Water, Renewable Energy, and other government bodies.
He added that these requests are currently undergoing technical review and verification in coordination with relevant authorities to assess the nature of the needs and their alignment with national priorities.
The Acting Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development emphasized that the Fund operates under an integrated system of governance, oversight, and transparency, ensuring the efficient management of contributions and guaranteeing their allocation to the objectives for which the Fund was established. He pointed out that all funding requests undergo rigorous study based on clear technical and financial criteria, in coordination with relevant government entities, to ensure resources are directed toward the highest-priority and most impactful projects. He further noted that the diversity of contributing entities reflects the breadth of the national partnership base and underscores the growing awareness of the importance of investing in enhancing national readiness and strengthening the state’s capacity to respond to various emergency situations and circumstances.
